Description

This one day course will teach you how to carve your own Bird to take home.  

Fan Birds are wonderfully delicate and demonstrate what can be acheived with a little time and skill.

each fan bird is unquie and made from a single piece of wood.

 

The tradition of fan bird carving orginates from Eastern Europe where fan birds are often given as gigts at weddings to symbolise good fortune.

The day course is suitable for the novice and the more experienced carver.  During the morning you will learn to use your tools safely and effiecently to begin to carve your own bird. The focus of the day is to have fun and relax whilst you immerse yourself in creating an orignal art work.

All materials and tools are provided for you to make at least two fan birds.

Duration:

09:30 – 4pm.

As usual on all our courses the kettle is always over the fire.

You can bring a packed lunch or something you would like to cook over the fire or in our Pizza oven.

The maximum group size is 4 people to ensure that every student gets the very best learning experience possible.
