David starting making bows and arrows at the age of 5. He had a 30 year break from bow making until a broken leg kept him off work for 6 months. From his first plank of hickory he bought 12 years ago he hasn’t looked back. He makes bows and arrows for fun and on commission. He has expanded his interests into all kinds of projectile weapons . He is a member of the Society for the Promotion of Traditional archery and the National Field Archery Society shooting in all the wooden arrow classes.

REF: Mollegabet bow.
My Elm Mollegabet self bow blew its back a few weeks ago. The bow has no backing other than a thin layer of the sapwood. A strip of the sapwood lifted from the upper limb with a heart rending crack. I’ll retire the bow.
68 in long and about 50Lbs at 28in. It has sinew wrapped nocks. I used it for Target and Field shooting over a number of years. I can send you some pictures and dimensions if you would like.
At the end of the day, I’m looking for a bowyer who can make me a similar bow. I realize Elm may be difficult in these days and some sort of backing may also be a good idea. An internet search gave me your name.
Do you have any suggestions or recommendations?
Yours sincerely
Graham Williams
